A small 1.5-storey home with chopped-up spaces failed to meet the needs of a young family of four. The answer was to raise the roof, add an addition and a full second storey, reorganize the main floor and revive the basement to create a home that the owners now absolutely adore.
The addition allowed us to restructure the main floor to provide an open-concept kitchen, dining and living room and create much more elbow room for this professional couple and their two young children. The new second floor includes rooms for everyone and an ensuite and walk-in closet for the parents.
The key feature in this home is the light-filled and spacious kitchen, which has great views from every direction.
A home designed with a Scandinavian feel in neutral tones that are warmed up with wood, an emphasis was placed on low maintenance, with features and finishes chosen for their durability, ease of cleaning and functionality.
It’s a project that meets the clients’ needs for more space, more light and an open feeling, checking off their wants and aesthetically hitting the mark for them.
